Selling jewelry is more nuanced than selling raw gold. The metal content is just one component — diamonds, designer brands, and craftsmanship all factor into a fair offer. The problem is most buyers only pay for the metal.
This guide covers the four main types of jewelry we buy, how each is valued, and what to expect at a specialist appraisal in Downtown Miami.
Gold Jewelry
Necklaces, chains, bracelets, rings, earrings — any karat (10K–24K). We test purity and pay based on verified weight and karat. Condition doesn't change the gold content value.
Diamond Rings & Jewelry
Engagement rings, tennis bracelets, diamond pendants, stud earrings. We evaluate the diamond (cut, color, clarity, carat) and the gold or platinum setting separately.
Estate & Vintage Pieces
Pre-owned fine jewelry from any era. Art Deco, Victorian, mid-century modern — well-preserved estate pieces often command a premium above melt value for the craftsmanship.
Designer Jewelry
Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, David Yurman, and other luxury brands. Signed designer pieces carry significant resale value beyond the raw metal.
What Determines Your Jewelry's Value
Jewelry has multiple value layers. A specialist evaluates all of them.
What Happens When You Walk In
From the moment you arrive to cash in hand — typically 20–25 minutes.
Do you buy jewelry without a diamond certificate?
Yes. A GIA or IGI certificate makes valuation faster and often supports a stronger offer, but it's not required. We evaluate diamonds on-site. If you have a certificate, bring it — if not, we'll work with what we can assess directly.
What's the difference between selling to you vs. a pawn shop?
A specialist buyer evaluates each component of your jewelry — the metal, the stones, and the brand value — separately and accurately. Pawn shops typically offer a single number based on fast resale potential, which often works out to 30–50% of actual value. We pay for what the item is actually worth.
My ring is broken or missing a stone. Can I still sell it?
Yes. A broken prong, missing stone, or damaged clasp reduces value modestly but doesn't disqualify the piece. The gold setting still has full melt value, and remaining stones are still worth evaluating. Bring it as-is.
How do you value a diamond ring?
We evaluate the diamond's cut, color, clarity, and carat weight — the 4Cs. We also assess the gold or platinum setting separately by weight and karat. For branded pieces (Cartier, Tiffany) we factor in resale value above raw materials. You'll see each component of the offer broken out.
Do you also offer loans against jewelry instead of buying?
Yes. If you'd prefer to keep your jewelry but need cash now, we offer collateral loans secured by fine jewelry, diamond pieces, and luxury items. No credit check, same-day funding. You get your piece back when you repay.
