What “box and papers” actually means
The original sales or guarantee paperwork is different from a service invoice, a store receipt or a generic presentation box. List each document you have rather than describing the watch as a “full set” when you are not sure. Include spare bracelet links and any original parts that were returned after service.
A box bought separately does not recreate the watch’s original documentation. It may also be the wrong type or period. Before buying replacement packaging to prepare for a sale, ask whether it would affect the actual offer enough to justify the cost.
Can a lost Rolex guarantee card be replaced?
Rolex states that a lost guarantee card cannot be reissued. It directs owners to the Official Rolex Jeweler from which the watch was purchased for assistance. A later service record is a different document, not a replacement original card.

What to provide when the paperwork is missing
Start with clear photographs of the dial, case, bracelet and clasp. Mention any known aftermarket parts, changed dials, repairs or service work. Do not open the case or remove the bracelet yourself just to produce a reference number. If you cannot safely see it, let the evaluator inspect it.
Provide the purchase or inheritance history you know and bring records you already have. Do not publish personal identity documents or full serial numbers in public listings. The buyer may need identity and ownership information privately as part of a transaction. Original packaging is not a substitute for those checks.

How to compare a watch-only offer
Compare your watch with the same reference and a similar configuration, condition and level of documentation. A listing for a documented, unworn example is not a direct comparison with a worn watch-only piece. There is no universal percentage deduction that works for every Rolex reference.
